Practice Schedule
Flag
Coaches will notify the cheerleaders prior to 7/30/08. Usually two nights/week to start.....
Mighty Mites, Jr. Pee Wee, Pee Wee and Midgets
The first two weeks we must practice 10 hours each week per national rules for “conditioning.” We will practice Monday-Friday, 6-8pm-county property by racetrack in Oceanport. Coaches will notify the cheerleaders/parents the schedule for the remainder of the season.
NOTES:
Coaches may add additional practices or changes practices as needed.
Up until school begins the max. hours allowed for practice is 10 hours.
Once school begins, then the max. hours are 6 hours per national rules.
Squad Break Down
Flag-5 (by 7/31), 6 and 7 year olds who do not make the 7/31 cutoff for mighty mites. (kindergarten, first and some second graders).
The remainder of the squads-mighty mites, jr. pee wees, pee wees, midgets-will try to keep the max amount of cheerleaders together in each grade but this is not guaranteed due to the 7/31 cut off date at each level.
NOTES:
This 7/31 cutoff date is per national rules and we cannot change it. There is a 35 limit per squad. First come-First Serve.
Game Times
The following times are approximate. Each game last about 1 and 1/2 hours except for flag which is approximately 1 hour. Home games are played at Shore Regional High School. We do travel for away games. If the boys play, then we cheer (including rain, midweek games, bowl games, playoff games, etc.). The majority of the games are played on Sundays. Cheerleaders are expected to be on the field anywhere between 15 minutes and 1/2 hour prior to the game to warm up. The coaches will advise the girls at the beginning of the season. This must be done to participate in the hello cheer and half time routine.

Competition
Past years teams have competed. The decision to compete will depend on whether or not the girls/parents are interested, committed and IF there are enough coaches who can volunteer this additional time. Even if a squad decides to compete an individual may chose not to.
